The zistle community seems to be growing rapidly lately which should make trades a little more frequent. Although this one was with hpennington22 who currently holds the record with 86 completed trades. The headliner card being a Emerald parallel of 2013 Topps Update Nolan Arenado.
Baseball card blog focusing on 1971 Topps, cards of catchers and the Colorado Rockies, sometimes drifting of into other areas or sports.

Pow, Right in the Starting Rotation
Jorge
De La Rosa (16 starts, currently active) currently sits third in Rockies history with 55 wins, a 4.23
ERA, and the franchise leader in winning percentage (61-39) .610. After
starting 2014 by feuding with catcher Wilin Rosario, De la Rosa has put a
solid season together, and is the only Rockies pitcher so far to stay in the rotation all season.

Sportlots PWE
There are some things about my collection I can't explain. One of them is orange cards. They really don't work with the Rockies purple, but for some reason I am drawn to them. After some price checking, I found this 2013 Topps Chrome Orange Nolan Arenado on sportlots for the cheapest price. I haven't dedicated myself to collecting one player since Chris Iannetta was traded, but Nolan Arenado is coming close to being that guy.

Trade from Japan
A recent trade scoring me some Japanese Sega Card-Gen Rockies from This Card is Cool. (his side here). Starting off with some 2013's. A new one for the Pomeranz collection, a guy that looks to be resurrecting his career in Oakland. One of the things I like about Card-Gen is the large set size giving you cards of relievers like Belisle and Betancourt.

Recent Football Pick-ups
Another edition of "cleaning out the scanned cards folder", this time showing off some Redskins. First up is kicker Graham Gano from 2011 Panini Adrenalyn XL. Gano was the Redskins kicker for two full seasons and has been with the Panthers the past two seasons. You just don't see kickers on cards anymore, From what I can find, this card from 2011 is the most recent Redskins kicker on a card, and the first kicker to appear on a card by themselves since Eddie Murray in 1995.

Custom Card: 2014 Gypsy Queen Don Zimmer
Just a small tribute to a man that spent over 60 years in the game of baseball. Don Zimmer was known for many things in his long career, and perhaps lost in that is that Zimmer was a member of the first coaching staff assembled by the expansion Colorado Rockies in 1993 and stayed with the team until 1995.
His accomplishments are far to many to list here, so I encourage everyone to spend some time to look back on the career of a true baseball legend.

Chavez Ra-Trading
Nothing like trading some hated Dodgers cards away for some Rockies. A recent trade with Chavez Ravining did just that, I am sure he will enjoy the Majin Buu
Hyun-Jin Ryu cards more that I would have. The purple Arenado really caught my eye, what Rockies fan doesn't love purple refractors. The Rosario is a nice numbered Archive parallel.

Recent Hockey Pickups (June 2014)
Time to clean out the scanned folder and post some recent hockey acquisitions, starting off with some Irbes. First a really cool minor league card, I bought a ton of this set as a kid, but never pulled an Irbe. In the middle is a nice on-card auto I picked up for less than $4.00 and a Metal Universe from 2012 Fleer Retro. I really love the weirdness of the '90's metal sets.
