Sept 2020 Trade Roundup

Clearing a couple trade out of the scan folders, starting with Steve Kline and either the batboy or a very small middle infielder, just a weird card from the old want-list and bonus points for an Expos appearance.

Trading with Canadians 2020

The Rockies collection has been largely ignored in favor of the Football Frankenset and the start of the One of Every Bruins project, but this trade scratches the baseball itch before 2020 gets in full swing. Starting with a oddly yellow tinted Vinny Castilla, which is something that I have been on other acetate cards but not very often, along with the Big Cat in a warm-up jacket and a zero-year Rudy Seanez from a non-Topps OPC design.

TCDB Trade #62

Another trade, more hockey heavy content. A new Cam Neely bringing me to 220 which tops the TCDB leaderboard, and a Byron Dafoe with a beauty of a mask card.

Hide Your Cat For This Trade

I'm going to bury the lead a little here and start with a couple Rockies, a super shiny Saberhagen and a Zero-Year Rudy Seanez who would pitch in 544 MLB games, but none with Colorado.

Good things comes in 3's

Unfortunately due to high International shipping costs I have to turn down a trade every so often, sometimes it is just not worth even a PWE for a couple junk wax cards both ways, but this 3 card trade was totally for it. One of my favorite parallels, the 2014 Topps Red Hot Foil, or Raining Blood parallel of a pre-beard Charlie Blackmon.

A Couple Football Trades

A couple smaller trades merged into one post. The obvious highlight is the above, I am thrilled any time I can add a new Sean Taylor in a trade, this is the Topps Collection gold foil version that I believe was released as a complete factory set.

Last Package of 2018 (TCDB Trade #34)

This trade snuck in on the 31st marking the last package of 2018. Some Gems and some awfulness. The awfulness is the above 1999 Skybox Thunder. The front looks like regular over-production era cardboard, but the backs what this set is about.

A Great Cardboard Trade

This is why trading is so great, I bought some 2018 Update, didn't get anything I really wanted, but was able to start a trade with Cardboard Greats and turn some Red Sox into some keepers, including the above, about 75 Gypsy Queen needs from a set that I total myself I wasn't collecting, but probably lied.

A Trade from P-Town

It seems like most of my trades have come from TCDB, but a few recent ones have come from the blogs, the first being from P-Town Tom from Waiting 'til Next Year. Starting with a real beauty of a Larry Walker card from 1997 Bowman. My collection of cards with the old Maple Leaf is embarrassingly small so this a welcome addition.

TCDB Trade #32

Another trade in what is turning out to be a pretty busy month or so. This one with some Archives. The most recent Archives featured 1977& 1981 Topps, which is interesting because I believe this is the first time that Rockies have been used on these years. I still wish they used action shot on archives, but still nice cards either way.

Yes, Another Baseball Card Trade

Another Canadian trade, this time with Mike from Not Another Baseball Card Blog, the star being the above "Raining Blood" parallel from 2014 Topps, these are awesome and probably the last flagship a parallel I have really, really liked.

Gearing up for Hockey with a Trade

Baseball is in the pennant race and NFL is only days away, so it's easy to forget hockey season is creeping up. The most recent trade reminded of this, (and that I need to get my skates sharpened and buy a new roll of stick tape). Some new Cam Neelys with an All-Star sticker featuring a Reggie Lemelin cameo and a Stadium Club with my favorite Bruins alternate jerseys from the NHL's 75th season.

Buckstore Care Package

Another awesome package from frequent trader Sportscards From The Dollar Store with a little sample for all my team collections, starting with some High End football in Hall of Famer Charley Taylor and my first Ryan Kerrigan auto. I have been looking for a Kerrigan auto for a while so this is a very welcome addition to the collection.

Cards from Cards on Cards

My first package (series of smaller packages) for 2018 arrived from Cards on Cards, and nicely fit into my current phase of basketball collecting. The above Harry Giles is a pretty sweet card to start with, nice purple swatch of a long term Kings project who has been hurt all year so far.

Tradin With Canadians Pt 1

Part 1 of 2 featuring trading with fellow Canadians, starting with andyroy3 from TCDB. The highlight being a new acetate Dante Bichette from Collector's Choice Crash the Game. I was a big Dante fan, but he was not made for close-ups.

Vintagey Redskins Trade

Getting into the NFL season, I started re-organizing my Redskins collection and updating my One-of-every-Redskins master list, as well as getting my TCDB profile in order. This led to a real nice trade checking of quite a few older guys, including Rickie Harris above from 1969. This is a really weird set, some cards have white borders, some don't, but they all have crazy loud colors, as I start to get into more vintage football I have some to appreciate sets like this.

Trade with ketchupman36

It's been a busy summer and I haven't put the time I would like into my hobby, but there are still a few trades rolling in, this one from the awesomely named ketchupman36. My favorite part might be the above Rockies sticker that is all shiny and refractory. Weird, but I like it.

TCBD Trade #9

I can't think of a clever title or opening sentence, so right down to business. TCDB, still not in love with it, but it keeps some trades coming in, like this one, that had a Green Jon Gray parallel. I still don't like 2017 Gypsy Queen (BRING BACK THE MINIS), but I will probably be adding some in trades.

TCDB Trade #7

It is always nice when a trade doesn't have to cross international borders or go through customs as was the case with a small recent trade from tcdb. It even has a little Canadian theme, starting with what was probably a big deal when it came out. Eric Lindros was going to be the next great player and Score pumped out cards of him like crazy, even including him in their 1990 Score Rookie & traded set.

Gypsy Queen Set Help

Set help going both ways between Sportscards From The Dollar Store and myself, staring one of the box loaders, I am still torn between "looks amazing" and "hard to store/display", but leaning toward looks amazing.
