Opening Day!

Opening Day is finally here, in honor here are a few Rockies opening day notes. Justin Morneau makes his Rockies debut becoming the third opening day first-baseman in team history, breaking Todd Helton's streak of 16 straight seasons.


D.J. LeMahieu is set to start a second base becoming the 17th different second-baseman in 22 seasons. The last player to start multiple opening days at second was Luis A. Gonzalez in 2004 & 2006. The last player to start consecutive opening days was Mike Lansing (1998-2000).
Jorge de la Rosa will make his first career opening day start, entering his 7th season with the Rockies, de la Rosa is the franchise leader with a .618% winning percentage (55-34)


Along with de la Rosa and LeMahieu, Charlie Blackmon and Nolan Arenado are making their opening day debuts, Arenado looks to have a break-out season after winning the Gold Glove a third as a rookie.
