A very rare pack break as I haven't been super interested in any new product (and I totally blew my card budget, more on that in a week or so). Something popped up that I consider an insta-buy, and as a bonus it was from a seller I have ordered from in past who usually has others things in his store, like oddball Japanese baseball packs. I will never turn down reasonably priced BBM packs, especially from this set which I have a few cards on my wantlist.
Baseball card blog focusing on 1971 Topps, cards of catchers and the Colorado Rockies, sometimes drifting of into other areas or sports.

Check out my Cards from COMC
COMC package day is always one of favorite days, I usually only make an order every 4 months or so, and not only do I get the COMC cards I picked up, I also get my "Shipping to Canada is Crazy" Mailbox cards, including, yes, another 2013 Ramon Hernandez, the last non-printing plate needed, the mini black numbered to #5.

Top 30 Colorado Rockies Cards (14-8)
After taking a day to express my disgust with the Topps Heritage High Number checklist we are back to the list with part 3 of 4.
14. Vinny Castilla - 1998 Score #97
Denver weather isn't always baseball friendly, especially in April, this card reflects that. Either that or Vinny is about to pull a gun out of his jersey and rob a bank, in that case hiding your face is a good start, but a jersey with your name on the back might be a mistake.

Trade w/ Ryan's Pitch
The best part of blogging here, trades. Package from Ryan's Pitch arrived today with some good stuff, just scanned a few highlights. The traded focused on some of his needs for '91 Fleer, and I got one I needed in return. I saw Berryhill catch for the Giants in my first Coors Field pilgrimage in 1997, he hit a 2 run home run in a Rockies loss, and this is a sweet catcher in action card. Among other good stuff a Thomas Field floating head I needed for the one of every Rockies collection. A couple 2011 GQ including an awesome Green Framed Tulo and a Ubaldo mini. And my first Iannetta with the Angels. Great trade, thanks.

Mailday: 2011 Topps Marquee Ubaldo Jimenez #MCA-UJ
I was pretty excited to see this come in the mail. After bidding and losing on a couple of these, I just threw a bid up not expecting to even come close and "won" this auction. Scans do not do these Museum Collection cards justice, they are gorgeous in real life. I usually stay away from high end products but this one is worth the cash in my eyes. I still refuse to pay over $100 for a box of 6 or 7 seven high end cards, but if I can find reasonable singles on ebay or comc then i will consider it. I was looking forward to see the Carlos Gonzalez one, but it's a redemption (another reason to stay away from high end stuff) so I jumped on the Ubaldo. It's to bad he's no longer with the team, but getting an auto of the best pitcher in Rockies history is pretty cool, and the nice return we got from the Indians makes it a little better to take.
