You Know You Are A Good Guy When...

You know you are a good guy when you send other people cards on your birthday. That is just what Mr. Buckstorecards has done, his most recent package coming close to his famous Feb 14 B-day. The highlight being my first Chris McMahon card on one of my favorite products, Bowman Platinum.

These scans have dust on them.

Sometimes I tell myself I am super organized, sometimes I put files in folder to keep them straight, and then totally forget about them for months. This is the case here with a package from oldest friend of the blog, Mr. Buckstorecards. As always a nice stack of cards with too many to scan them all, but a few highlights made it to the scanner, starting with a straight black patch of David Krejci and a very rare brand for me, Ray Bourque from The Cup.

Cards from Cards on Cards

Some "Guilt-free" basketball from Cards on Cards. NBA has been put on the back-burner due to budgetary concerns, so getting some new basketball was a welcome surprise. Starting off with De'Aaron Fox, and Prestige rookie card and Panini Status which I love for the old Skybox vibes.

Cards from Doug

Another great package from Buckstore Cards, as always filled with great stuff, like the above Harry Giles auto-relic-rookie card from Spectra. Shiny, on-card and team color swatch, hard to beat that.

Check Out My NBA

The results of a small basketball binge arrived in my recent COMC mailday. Some decent stuff, including the above Peja Stojakovic, capturing his 2 game career with the Raptors in his sunset season before going to Dallas and helping them win a title. As a bonus it an on-card auto from a nice looking higher end set. I am a sucker for the Gold Standard brand.

Galactic Single Card Mailday

I was a little worried about this one as it was ordered on Jan 25th and didn't arrive until today. Seeing as it came from Taiwan I guess that is to be expected. The Galactics are very nice and shiny, but my scanner hates them and Office Lens didn't really do much for me so here is a camera shot of it.

1st COMC of 2018: Basketball

My current trend of adding to my NBA collection continues with my first Boogie Cousins autograph, on-card and what must have been a redemption as it is sealed in a Panini one-touch. I am torn on opening this or not, as of now it stays sealed.

Cards from Cards on Cards

My first package (series of smaller packages) for 2018 arrived from Cards on Cards, and nicely fit into my current phase of basketball collecting. The above Harry Giles is a pretty sweet card to start with, nice purple swatch of a long term Kings project who has been hurt all year so far.

Black Friday Box 1: 2015 Clear Vision

I don't usually do the Black Friday thing other scouring COMC for sales and buying the christmas gifts that I has saved in my amazon cart. This year I had some extra paypal funds from selling my video game collection, so I decided to try blowouts black friday thing. It was honestly kind of frustrating and I missed out on some stuff I had my eye on with the whole rotating in-stock out of stock thing they do. I did end up with 4 box, the Revolution being my main goal, the extra being Clear Vision.

Tradin With Canadians Pt 2

The second of two packages from friends in the Great White North. Coming from Sportscards From The Dollar Store, one of the more prolific package senders around. After my King-less packs of Hoops these are much appreciated, especially the Frank Mason III card, I am still a little leary of "The 3rds" one teams I like, but this guy seems pretty good so far.

Welcoming back the NBA with some recent pick-ups

I was on a mission to improve by Kings collection the last few months, so in honor of the NBA season starting, I am emptying out the scan folder. Starting with one of the few on-card auto rookie cards of Buddy Hield in a Kings jersey. A pretty nice card from Grand Reserve, it was a redemption so I probably got a bit of a deal by redeeming it myself.

Group Break Result: 2016-17 Select Basketball

After not getting a hit in my last break, I got a $5 credit towards my next one. So with the credit burning a hole in my virtual wallet, I jumped in on a very cheap 6 box break of 2016 Select with Sacramento. There are lots of Kings cards with the three rookies and on-card autos, so why not?

Trade with ketchupman36

It's been a busy summer and I haven't put the time I would like into my hobby, but there are still a few trades rolling in, this one from the awesomely named ketchupman36. My favorite part might be the above Rockies sticker that is all shiny and refractory. Weird, but I like it.

COMC Spring Cleaning 3: Everything Else

On to part 3, everything else. I have been looking for a Yogi Berra bat card for a while and this is one of the nicest ones I have seen design-wise. The relic is very small, but I am still very happy to add this card to my catcher bat card collection.

Recent COMC Order

COMC mailday also means my other online purchases come though the mailbox service, the above Rocket Ismail autograph was liberated and returned to it's rightful home in Canada. This was when the CFL was a big deal with Wayne Gretzky, Bruce McNall and John Candy buying the Argos and signing The Rocket to a big deal. This is from the 1991 All-World set that might beat any junk wax era in terms of production. Oddly the 100 card base set has 10 Rocket Ismal cards, not including the above auto and a Promo card.

Trading with Crazy Joe

A blogger/Tradingcarddb trade with CrazieJoe's Card Corner, starting with a card that I can't believe I didn't have between the 1991 Upper Deck I opened as a kid and the trade over the past years of Earnest Byner. Really cool card, doesn't scan well though.

Care Package from the Dollar Store

Cleaning up a stack of cards that have been screaming to be scanned, sorted, posted and added to the collection from Sportcards from the Dollar Store. Starting with my favorite, a sweet retro shot of Pete Peeters. I really like the early 1980s goalies on modern cards along with Tuukka Rask with slightly better gear and a Bruins 90th Anniversary patch.

Check out my Cards from COMC

COMC package day is always one of favorite days, I usually only make an order every 4 months or so, and not only do I get the COMC cards I picked up, I also get my "Shipping to Canada is Crazy" Mailbox cards, including, yes, another 2013 Ramon Hernandez, the last non-printing plate needed, the mini black numbered to #5.

A Very Donruss-y Trade

I don't buy much Donruss (or Panini) but it does make it to my wantlists from some weird part of me that misses junk wax and middle names on backs of cards, so here are two need additions to the Nolan James Arenado collection.

Cleaning out the Scan folder again

I intended to clean up my office, but that quickly took a back seat to catching up on scanning and cleaning out the scan folder and to be scanned pile. These are all from a previous COMC order, and with a new one on the way it was way past time to post some of these and scan them in. Starting with some 2011 In The Game Canadiana of Terry Puhl, one of the very few Saskatchewan born MLB players. Nice to have an auto of his and a sweet red patch from the old Astros uni even if they are unlicensed.
