First off, thanks for all the Congratulations on the previous post. Secondly, back to the cardboard and a pretty huge addition to the Redskins collection. An on-card signature of Sammy Baugh, Hall of Famer and pretty much the first NFL superstar with the Redskins from 1937-1952 winning two NFL Championships, 6x 1st Team All-Pro, 2x 2nd Team All-Pro, 2x NFL Player of the Year and was the career leader in Passing yards and Passing Touchdowns when he retired.
Pretty nice autograph for a guy that was around 87 when this card came out, and I love that the auto is off to the side leaving a nice looking card even though there is no space provided of the signature. The corners are not great and that might have kept this card in my price range, bad corners or not I am trilled to get this card, as there are few of his certified autos and even fewer on-cards as Baugh passed in 2008 at the age of 94.
Amazing addition to your collection! And he does have a nice autograph.
ReplyDeleteVery cool auto. Congrats.
ReplyDeleteVery cool. Every now and then I'll look for an affordable on-card autograph of his for my collection. Lol. Still looking. Congratulations on finding one for yours.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I love the nickname, "Slinging Sammy".
