Football Frankenset - July 2019 Pickups

029 - 1998 Skybox Premium - Dwayne Rudd

There have been some tough choices so far, this was not one of them, I really doubt anything will displace Dwayne Rudd with an actual Vikings helmet.

034 - 2016 Donruss - Robert Woods

Not sure what I like more here, the sweet Bills throwback helmet or the updated 1990 Donruss design.

046 - 2011 Absolute Memorabilia Retail - Reggie Wayne

Good shot of these weird Colts throwbacks with the horseshoe decal on the back of the helmet rather than the side.

053 - 1992 Ultimate - Tom Whelihan

This might break the scale if I was awarding points, weird team, weird league, and not only a punter, but a barefoot punter.

115 - 1994 Pacific - Steve Smith

Raiders in a bad weather game and a fullback looking tough with the high neck-guard in the back.

128 - 2018 Donruss - Adam Vinatieri

4x Super Bowl Champ, active games played leader, future Hall of Famer in a bad weather game.

185 - 1996 Donruss - Robert Brooks

I have been surprised at the lack of Lambeau Leap cards, this is a great one.

199 - 1999 Stadium Club - Chris Spielman

Zero year card of the former Lions great, injured and retired before playing a regular season game with the Browns.

206 - 1995 Collector's Choice Update - Ronnie Lott

Back-to-Back zero year with Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott looking weird in a Chiefs uni.

244 - 1989 Topps - Rich Karlis

Another barefoot kicker who set an NFL record with 7 field goals in one game and also kicked in Super Bowl XXI.

353 - 1995 Fleer - Steve Wallace

Joins Mark Kelso in the "Great Gazoo" helmet club.

482 - 1993 Topps - Jim McMahon

McMahon had a really weird career, from a star for the 1985 Bears, to a journeyman backup. Not a lot of competition at card number 482 so this one will probably stick.

  1. Awesome selection of cards. At first I thought nothing could outdo the Whelihan card, but then I saw that Robert Brooks. He's one of my all-time favorite Packers and one of the best at doing the Lambeau Leap. I'm on a mission to track down that card.
